Flag of Argentina

Flag origins

The colors are said to represent blue sky and white clouds, although there are several explanations of their precise origins.

Flag story

The central sun is the Sol de Mayo, or Sun of May. It refers to the May Revolution of 1810, a major break with Spanish colonial rule that helped pave the way for Argentine independence.
